Sarasota Film Festival Returns: A Dynamic Celebration of Global Cinema

One of my favorite annual events is the Sarasota Film Festival, a dynamic celebration of film, storytelling, and creativity that brings an unmistakable energy to downtown Sarasota each spring.

This year’s festival features an impressive lineup of 47 feature films, including world and Florida premieres, spanning independent features, award-winning dramas, compelling documentaries, international cinema, and shorts—alongside buzz worthy selections like the opening night film Deep Water.

The Sarasota Film Festival brings world-class cinema to venues throughout Sarasota and the surrounding area. From the main multiplex to intimate arthouse theaters—including Sarasota Art Museum—each venue offers a unique filmgoing experience, transforming the city into a vibrant cultural hub filled with filmmaker conversations, premieres, and unforgettable moments.
