Peninsula Sarasota continues to capture the hearts of homebuyers with its boutique design and intimate setting on Golden Gate Point in Downtown Sarasota. Now, as demolition has cleared the way for the start of construction, visionary developer Sam Gault has added Chelsea Dunbar to its prestigious design team. Owner of Sarasota-based Blu Interiors, Dunbar will join a world-class team, including Karen Asprea Studio of New York, and Connecticut-based Marybeth Woods. Let’s meet the interior designers bringing their unique flair and style to the residences of this coveted address.
“Throughout my career, I have found that the best interiors are created when working in close partnership with clients at every stage of the process,” shared Dunbar. “Peninsula Sarasota already has an incredible design, and I look forward to accentuating that with the homebuyers’ final selections.”
Marybeth Woods is a licensed architect with over 25 years of experience in residential design. After receiving her architectural degree from Cornell University, she began her career in NYC at Rosenblum/ Harb designing Barneys stores. In 1994, she moved to Westport, CT to focus on custom homes. Since then, she has worked with Gault for years on numerous residential communities, including the Mill at Westport. Her designs take traditional elements and fuse them with modern details to create elegant spaces with clean lines, simple forms, and polished detail.
Taking inspiration from the garden-like setting of Golden Gate Point, Woods has designed each of Peninsula Sarasota’s 22 residences to accentuate the natural landscape. Residents will have their choice of beautiful stone slab or engineered hardwood flooring throughout. Natural, neutral color palettes convey a soothing sense of relaxation, while sleek European-inspired cabinetry and a premier collection of Gaggenau appliances enhance care and convenience. Soft wood-textured accent walls are highlighted by integrated LED lighting concealed in surprising locations to create soft, indirect lighting sources. Best of all, soaring 10′ floor-to-ceiling windows cover every wall, bathing each residence in an unprecedented level of natural light while providing mesmerizing views of Sarasota Bay and the downtown skyline.
“Sarasota is a cultural diamond in the sand,” shared Woods. “Downtown you have the music, art, waterfront, and outdoor dining. Plus, you have access to beautiful beaches just a stone’s throw away. It’s a great location, and Peninsula Sarasota is trying to maximize the views to keep the plan as open as possible.”
“Nature is always an inspiration in my designs, especially since this property sits on the peninsula of Golden Gate Point,” said Asprea. “I am hoping these spaces set a tone of tranquility, where residents feel at ease in a warm but chic space. Peninsula will be the first condominium project designed by KAS in Sarasota, and I’m looking forward to working with this team to design a luxurious lifestyle for the Sarasota market.”
Complimenting these tranquil common areas are a collection of amenities designed to instill a feeling of relaxation and exclusivity. A resort-style pool and sun deck are perfect for daytime leisure, while gathering areas with private wine storage invite conversations with friends and neighbors. Begin the day with a workout at the state-of-the-art fitness center, or end it at the rooftop residents’ lounge, where magnificent views of Sarasota’s famed sunsets are just an elevator ride away. There is added peace of mind from the personalized assistance of an on-site concierge and access-controlled entry points for a lock-and-leave lifestyle.
Located on Golden Gate Point, Peninsula Sarasota provides a private retreat wrapped in everything residents love about Sarasota. Intimate by design, this 22-acre peninsula jutting into Sarasota Bay is a serene garden-like sanctuary with brick paver streets, rows of palm trees, and friendly neighbors. Just a short stroll away, Sarasota is home to numerous arts and culture exhibitions, including museums, galleries, concert halls, and theaters. Waterfront adventures also abound, with the nearby Hart’s Landing and Marina Jack for boat charters, fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding throughout Sarasota Bay. Beach lovers cherish Lido Key’s powder-soft white sand, while foodies and fashionistas spend the day exploring St. Armands Circle’s boutique shops and five-star dining venues.
