SARASOTA, FLORIDA – After receiving unanimous site plan approval from the Sarasota Planning Board last year, demolition has begun on Golden Gate Point on the site of Peninsula Sarasota. The new boutique condominium will be located just west of Downtown Sarasota at 223 and 283 Golden Gate Point. Peninsula Sarasota is planned to include 22 residences across two buildings connected by a common amenity platform and gated parking garage below. The Buildings are designed with one or two residences per floor, overlooking Sarasota Bay, Marina Jack and the downtown skyline.
The 1960s-era quad structures previously occupying the property are now being cleared, allowing the adjoining of two separate lots for the development of Peninsula Sarasota. This demolition is the launch of construction for Peninsula Sarasota, with foundation and vertical construction slated to begin soon.
Connecticut developer Sam Gault is heading the development of the new condominiums, selecting Florida-based architecture firm Hoyt Architects to create the design. Gault has also assembled a nationally based interior design team, including residence interior designer Marybeth Woods from Connecticut and New York’s Karen Asprea to design the amenity spaces.
The developers also recently announced the addition of Chelsea Dunbar to the team as a local interior designer. Owner of Blu Interiors, Dunbar has worked for 15 years on both commercial and residential projects within Sarasota, Siesta Key, and Largo, Florida. She will assist future homeowners at Peninsula Sarasota with the selection of their residences’ features and finishes.
As the development team continues to grow, the real estate team has celebrated a milestone of its own, with the opening of a new Sales Gallery at 1300 Main Street. The Sales Gallery’s innovative Virtual Reality experience allows walkthroughs of every residence and amenity space before vertical construction has begun. “With demolition officially beginning on Peninsula Sarasota, we’re thrilled for our homeowners who are looking forward to their new Sarasota address,” said Georgia Salaverri of the Coldwell Banker sales team. “We consider Peninsula the luxury yacht in a sea of cruise ships. Everything about the community has been scaled for a more intimate lifestyle, while still providing the most desirable amenities and services our owners require for their Sarasota retreat.”
